We've owned this for over 3 years. Bought it at Herbergers when the similar sized Cuisinart cost much more that this model on sale. Love it. Unlike those horrific nasty looking photos up there, we have no problems with gunk. Because of it's large size we hand wash usually, with an occasional trip through the dishwasher. Just don't get the specialty disc for fine grating. Haven't tried it on parmesan yet, but did not work for grating soap at all. We use this for pesto, salsa, jam, hash browns, cucumber salad, etc. For a big family or one that cans this is a work horse.

Being that I have not had a food processor since the 80's, I was slightly nervous about this purchase. Happy to say that it is great! I did not realize how much of my time was being spent on food prep until I got this unit. Makes everything easier. I truely believe that cooking can be such an enjoyable activity when you have the correct tools.
The unit IS a bit heavy but not too much so. I was concerned when I read the reviewers who stated that it was too heavy, but it is fine for me and I don't have a lot of upper body strength. I always worry about the weights as I like to move everything to my breakfast bar when I am cooking and I need to be able to move it easily. No problem! :)
Very good looking and I really like the paddle controls. They make me feel a bit more in control. I agree that the safety features are a plus; should be required on ALL food processors with blades this sharp! BE CAREFUL WITH THE BLADES.
Oh and this unit is VERY quiet. My daughter was visiting and patiently agreed to watch me chop veggies, but in the process became very impressed with it. She now wants one!
Happy to say: no complaints!
Next I will be making my own pumpkin puree for my recipes so that I don't have to worry about shortages ever again!

I bought this food processor for my son and his wife's anniversary. He is still excited about it. He made homemade peanut butter. He said it is so cool and it takes longer to clean the appliance than it does to chop, grate, slice or anything. They are all enjoying the food he is making and I'm sure my daughter in law likes the break from the kitchen. If you like to experiment in the kitchen and don't have a lot of time to dice and chop. You will love this food processor. He couldn't wait unti lI came over to see how efficient it was. Makes a real nice gift.
